Commentary on Healthcare in America!

Rachel M Edwards post, "Give me your Tired, Your Poor…but not Your Sick," on her blog named Blue Stocking Suffragette, is very powerful and influential. The medical costs and life ending terms it causes is very eye opening and leaves me wondering why our country has such ways. Rachel speaks from her personal experiences in which her mother killed herself from not being able to pay her medical bills, this so shocking that our country has put so much pressure on the citizens of America to pay such outrageous amounts of many all for the benefit of the doctors. Statistical data is shown in this blog to help the reader understand just how much Americans are charged compared to other countries, and I think the data chosen was very influential and organized.

I agree one hundred percent with Rachel, America should devote their time in finding a medical insurance plan that covers everybody so that the Constitution can still guarantee all the rights that it originally promised to Americans. No one should have to lose their life over not being able to afford health care.

Immigration: Is This Our Country Or Not?

Americans are not the only humans living in the United States. Are we being pushed out? Is there more illegal immigrants in our country than natural born Americans?

According to the Pew Hispanic Center there was an estimated 11.5 million illegal immigrants living in the United States in 2011. Although there was an estimated 300,000,000 Americans living in the US, could it be possible that one day immigrants will out grow the American population? This is a good thing to think about even though it is very unlikely that immigrants will take over the US anytime in the near future. Before you make up your mind about immigration, whether its good or bad, here is some common pros and cons to consider.

                   Pros:

  • Cost of production is reduced and prices decline because immigrants are most likely willing to work at lower rates, than needy Americans
  • More opinions and a wider range of ideas from different backgrounds
  • Gives America more power because we have different skills being utilized from all over the world.
  • Results in sharing of knowledge for everyone, and humans have a better chance of understanding the world around them
  • Creates more trade with other countries because we have more people creating supplies and machinery that others might be lacking in or need

                  Cons:

  • Crowding can occur when to many people are trying to live in the same place; food, water, supplies, and housing becomes limited and more valuable
  • New diseases to our country can be introduced if someone carries something Americans have yet to find a cure for
  • If immigrants cant find a job, Americans are forced to support them and it creates a huge burden
  • Other nations lose there knowledgeable people and suffering from a power loss

There are many other results from immigrants coming to America, whether beneficial or disastrous, but one thing that we should always keep in mind is that God created us all and we all live on this planet together as one, no matter where you live. America may not be inhabited by just US citizens, and this may not be our country forever, but this is our world and we have to share it with everyone!

Jacob Hallenberger's, "Increasing NASA's Budget."

The post by Jacob Hallenberger, "Increasing NASA's budget," is very well written and organized. Although I do not agree with the statements in this article, I think that Jacob did a great job in trying to educate people on his opinion with interesting and valid facts. Pointing out that the United States is in a space race with all the other countries of the world is good because America always wants to be the leader. The fact that NASA's funding has reached the lowest amount of money since the creation of the administration is very eye opening and persuading.

I think that the United States is spending way to much money while we don't have any money to spend. Space exploration is cool and all, but I don't think it is that much of an importance to have. Most of my opinion is based on religious beliefs, that is why i am persuaded in the opposite direction. If the world were to have a catastrophic event that wouldn't permit us to live here anymore then I believe it is our time to die and maybe some other life form will take over the universe.

ObamaCare: Yes or No?

Obama has created a new plan of health care called ObamaCare that is being carried out in America today. Is it Beneficial or not? I will give you facts about the plan so that you can properly decide for your self whether to accept this plan or not.

Here are a few facts about ObamaCare that you should know:

  • Caps have been put on the insurance companies to raise the peoples premiums in order to save them from having to pay it.
  • ObamaCare will cut the deficit by over a trillion dollars in the next two decades.
  • Obama's main goal in creating this plan for America is to make sure that all US citizens can have affordable health care plans.
  • Employers with over 50 employees must have their own comparable coverage or pay a fair amount of tax money to ObamaCare for support.
  • Jobs are created not destroyed by Obamacare
  • Obamacare cuts $716 billion of waste from Medicare / Medicaid and cuts reimbursements to private Advantage plans and reinvests it into Obama's health care reform. In other words $716 billion is saved and then $716 billion is reinvested back into Obamacare. Doctors and hospitals almost universally agree on this reform.
  • 19 million Americans will receive tax credits to help pay for health care and most middle class Americans will actually save thousands on health care via tax cuts.
  • By 2019 17 million Americans below the poverty line will be eligible for Medicaid due to expansion of the program.
  • All Americans have the choice either to stay on their current health care plan, have no health care, or get involved with ObamaCare. Every US citizen has a choice, you are not being pushed to do anything.
Should you decide to make ObamaCare your health care plan? Most people will make their decision based on whether they like Obama or not, even if his ideas for ObamaCare are good and beneficial to them. ObamaCare sounds very well thought out and good for anyone especially those that previously couldn't afford health care. Obama the Communist!

In a Blog titled, Is Barack Obama a communist? I don’t know. But here are five things I do know, a topic was brought up about Obama and the reasons behind why he is a communist. To fully understand what the author, Grundle, is saying about Obama read the following: Is Barrack Obama a Communist? October 18, 2012

Grundle argues five reasons in which he believes that Obama is a communist based on actions he has taken in the past. Most of the points Grundle hits on are about how Obama praising people who support Hugo Chavez, the Venezuela communist dictator. Obama spent 1.6 million dollars to save graffiti that glorified communist murders, Che Guevara and Fidel Castro. Also, Obama supports these two communist murders. At the end, Grundle shows that Obama denied, Lech Walesa, entry into the White House and explains that she was a major help in defeating communist in Eastern Europe. Grundles five points are eye opening but hard to see proven, because he has no evidence from credible sources in his writing.

The audience that Grundle is trying to reach out to, would be the American people who plan to vote in this next election that is coming up. He wants to try and get his point across that Obama is a Communist and that by voting for him in the election we risk our countries freedom. People who plan on voting need to see this because they need know have knowledge about everything that the presidential candidates are involved in or have done so that they can make educated decisions on who should run this country.

Grundle has no credibility, the reader doesn't even know if the facts he gives are true. There is no evidence of where he got his information, it is just a random guy writing his opinion on a topic and hoping people will read and be influenced.

I personally cant say if I agree with this blog or not because i don't know if the information is valid. If in fact, all the facts and information about Obama where true then I would believe he was a communist and I would never want to see him as president of the United States again.

Mandatory Paid Parental Leave

In a column in the USA Today magazine, Duncan Black, writes about why parents should get paid time off to spend with their children every year. A trip to Sweden opened his eyes to how limited America is when it comes to spending time with their children because they cant risk losing their jobs or paying the bills. Black stresses the idea of making a national paid parental leave program.

He claims in his column that, "Such a program would not be free, of course, but it would be affordable. Sweden's leave program is estimated to cost just 0.8% of its GDP, a small price to pay for a widespread benefit for families (Parag. 5)."

Blacks claim sounds logical because if parents have more time to spend with their kids they can take care of their needs and make sure they grow up the way they want them to. Children need help sometimes and it can greatly affect them if both or even one of the parents aren't around. Some kids have problems when either their mother or father are always gone working.

The authors intended audience is parents with young kids, because if they see this and read about it, they can help in creating the national paid parental leave program. Adults usually read the newspaper when they get home from work, and after seeing this column in it they might be encouraged to try and spend more time with their children.

Duncan Black is very credible because he writes columns for USA today, a blog called Eschaton under the pseudonym of Atrios; he is a fellow at Media Matters for America, and he holds a doctorate in economics.

I personally agree with Duncan Black because one dayIi hope to have kids of my own, and I would be so thankful to have paid time off to raise my children and make sure they have a good head on their shoulders. If you'd like to make your own opinion about getting a national paid parental leave program established in America read this article, 2012 U.S. Needs Paid Family Leave.

As Carney labels Libya strike terrorism, Obama continues to cite anti-Islam film

This past Thursday, September 20th, the White House labeled the attack on the US Consulate in Libya as a terrorist attack. Everyone wanted to hear what President Obama had to say about this claim, but he kept to the story that the blame was to be put on an anti-Islam film.

Obama claims that an offensive show lead to violent attacks to be seen in criminals. Obama was not solving the confused problems of the people with his word, so back in Washington Carney claimed it to be officially terrorism. Many people involved in this situation said that they thought it was a pre-planned attack and that it could happen again.

Belief that the administration is walking away from claiming this attack was spontaneous is rising. Watch the anti-Islam video and make your own opinions about this attack at, As Carney labels Libya strike terrorism, Obama continues to cite anti-Islam films ( September 20th, 2012)

I think this article is worth reading because it gives people the opportunity to make their own assumptions about the people involved in making decisions for our nation. Election time is quickly approaching and if you are voting but are not informed, now is the time to inform yourself and make sure you're making the right choice for the United States of America.
